NEET Cracking Strategies for Biology Exam
Becoming a successful professional doctor is what every medical student dreams of Students put years of hard work and a lot of amount of money to pursue their passion. In order to get admission into a top-notch college, it is important to crack National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). In such a situation, it becomes important to not only work hard but to also work smartly. Just a little time is left to prepare for NEET2018, you might be studying day and night to pass with flying colors. But sometimes being guided in the right direction is important, though NEET is mostly based on NCERT syllabus and thus complete analysis of the same is a must.To prepare for NEET 2018, one needs a proper schedule and a timetable to ease the preparation process.
1.Follow the examination pattern :
A question paper usually comes with a set pattern and the same weightage, try to solve the sample papers as much as you can. These question papers help you get a sneak peek into the examination pattern, weightage of each and every section and allocation of topics according to each section.
2. MUST ATTEMPT:
There are some topics that have been asked in every question paper and needs special attention while preparing for exams. While preparing for a Biology exam, following are the important topics: Cell Structure, Photosynthesis, Biotechnology, Genetics, Plant Morphology, Evolution, Cellular Respiration.
3. Always Try Your Best:
Try to work on the whole syllabus at first, if you think not enough time is left and there is a hurry to finish the syllabus, at such situation, choose the important topics and start preparing for them effectively. Quitting is never an option, always try your best to complete as much as you can. Some important topics at which you can give your best shot are : Development, Breathing & Exchange of gases, Ecology, Biological classification.
4. Topics to be prepared only in enough time:
When you think you are done preparing for all the important topics and are still left with some time, you can definitely go through some more major topics like the Animal Kingdom, Animal Tissues, Anatomy of Flowering Plants and Plant growth & development etc. Other topics like Plantae and Animalia needs some extra time and efforts and thus should be prepared with good concentration. Attention should be paid to topics like characters of Phylum in Non-Chordates and up to the class level in Chordates. It is recommended for students to go through all the examples in NCERT. Important topics to be prepared from class 11th syllabus comprise of ‘Human Physiology’, ‘Plant Physiology’, ‘Cell Biology’, and ‘Biomolecules’. One can also check the weightage of these topics as per previous year question papers. Pay attention to the common and scientific names of the organisms from animalia and plantae. Also, don’t forget to practice the numerical from ‘Genetics’ along with the pedigree chart.
5. Practice makes a man Perfect:
Even when you have completed the syllabus, don’t forget to practice the whole syllabus again and again. The practice could be done in two ways, either chapter wise or by solving previous year sample papers. Which way to choose depends on your manner of learning and practicing. After practicing the mock test or sample papers, go through your performance and find out the areas where you lack so that from next time before solving the sample papers, you prepare well for the topics you lacked in last time.
