13,000 MBBS Seats and 5,800 Post Graduate Seats Added in Medical Colleges of India

To increase the quality of Medical professionals in country, government has decided to increase the number of seats in MBBS as well as in Post Graduate course. Over 5,800 Post graduate seats have been added this year, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey informed. He also told about the centrally sponsored scheme of government for the establishment of new medical colleges along with various district hospitals in 58 districts in 20 states and union territories.

MCI defines terms for Open School Candidates

According to Medical Council of India, a candidate passed from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is not eligible to take admission in Medical Universities abroad. In a circular issued last week, Medical Council made it clear that any candidate who has not taken classroom training in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English should not be allowed
